This Beusail Longevity session is designed to explore one of the most overlooked factors influencing long-term health and high performance: the way we breathe.
You take roughly 20,000 breaths every day. Almost none of them are conscious—and for many high-performing adults, dysfunctional breathing patterns may be quietly affecting sleep, recovery, cardiovascular efficiency, cognitive stamina, and the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
Mouth breathing, over-breathing, and poor carbon dioxide tolerance can place unnecessary strain on the body and nervous system. The challenge is not simply taking deeper breaths. It is learning how to breathe more efficiently so your body can use oxygen effectively, recover properly, and sustain its performance over time.
You’ll hear from Patrick McKeown, creator and CEO of Oxygen Advantage®, Director of Education at Buteyko Clinic International, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology. Patrick is the author of The Oxygen Advantage and The Breathing Cure and has spent decades studying how breathing affects sleep, recovery, stress, focus, and physical performance.
After managing asthma with medication for much of his early life, Patrick travelled to Moscow at age 26 to study directly under Dr. Konstantin Buteyko. Since then, he has trained hundreds of instructors and worked with people ranging from elite athletes and high performers to individuals simply trying to breathe better and sleep through the night.
